2009 National Alpaca Day Alpaca Farm Days was a huge success. We could not keep track of the people coming and going. There were lots of folks interested in learning more about our Alpacas. We will have to consider being open all day next year instead of the 5 hours each day. We had skirting, knitting, crocheting, and felting demonstrations. There was fun for everyone including the children. The children were able to handle the alpacas and make a finger puppet to take home. Ghost Dancer’s Callie was always at the ready to have her picture taken with the visitors to 3 Hawk Alpacas. There was a pen of some of the Alpacas we had for sale and despite the economy we have made some new family members by their purchase of elite Alpacas. The farm store was open for the early Christmas shopper and the individual with a keen eye for that special item made by hand from 100% North Carolina Alpaca. Visitors had a choice of handmade scarves, shawls, felted Alpacas, felted soaps, yarns, and knitted Afghans as well as other items made from North Carolina Alpaca.
